Two women were arrested after stealing mail and driving away in a stolen U-Haul. Both women had warrants and drugs. This is the second time the pair was arrested this month together in a U-Haul.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a hit-and-run crash in the 6900 block of NW Kansas City Road, north of the city of Forest Grove. Deputies learned that an 81-year-old man was getting the mail from his mailbox when a car left the road and struck him.

On Tuesday, December 17, 2019, Washington County Sheriff’s Office Westside Interagency Narcotics (WIN) investigators executed a search warrant at 2944 NE Moda Way in Hillsboro and a second search warrant at 1218 SE Alder Street in Hillsboro. Both search warrants were the result of a single investigation.

On Monday, April 15, 2019, Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of gunfire near Catlin Gable School located at 8825 SW Barnes Road. At approximately 12:16 p.m., a teacher at the school reported hearing a gunshot and saw someone run into a nearby home with a shotgun.

Between the dates of February 4 and February 17, 2019, Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted 370 traffic stops during our enhanced seat belt patrols. In addition to issuing citations for drivers not wearing seatbelts, deputies also cited drivers for other issues related to driver safety.

On January 10, 2019, detectives with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Property Crimes Unit began investigating suspected financial elder abuse of an 88-year-old Beaverton woman. The report was received through the Department of Human Services’ statewide abuse reporting hotline from a local credit union.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office would like to help keep children safe this Halloween. On average, children are twice more likely to be hit by a car on Halloween than on any other day of the year. The Sheriff’s Office would like to provide some helpful safety tips and a free safety light.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office hosted a drug turn-in event on April 26, 2014 at the Farmington Road Bales Thriftway. During the four hour event, the Sheriff’s Office received about 320 pounds of drugs for destruction. This event is in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Agency held every April and October.

The Good Samaritan that assisted Corporal Crecelius has been identified. The unknown man that assisted Corporal Crecelius pull Mark VanVleck from the burning Jeep has been identified as Nickolas Kingston, 22, originally from Forest Grove and currently enlisted in the US Navy in Oak Harbor Washington.

Washington County Detectives received a report from the Department of Human Services (DHS) regarding alleged sex abuse by Michael Mallery, 48, of Portland who is the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Pacific University. Detectives investigated the allegations and a Grand Jury indicted Mr. Mallery for Sex Abuse I.

On Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at 4:32 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Sylvan Heights Condominiums in the 7500 block of SW Barnes Road near Portland. Deputies were told that 36-year-old Eric Lane was at the location and had a felony warrant for his arrest related to a parole violation. Deputies also learned that Salem Police had probable cause to arrest him for robbery in the first degree, coercion, and assault in the fourth degree, all related to a domestic violence incident that occurred approximately ten days earlier. Deputies were told that Lane might also be armed with a handgun he used during the incident in Salem.
