Kevin Barton is the District Attorney for Washington County. He was elected to office in 2018 and re-elected in 2022. Prior to becoming District Attorney, Mr. Barton served as a career prosecutor in the Washington County DA’s Office.

On August 4, 2026, Washington County Circuit Court Judge Ricardo Menchaca sentenced D’Angelo Terrell Fairley, Jr., to 90 months in prison following multiple criminal convictions.
Vincent Charles Roberts II Guilty in Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks & Minerals Burglary Case
On August 7, 2026, a Washington County jury found Vincent Charles Roberts II guilty of burglary in the second degree, aggravated theft in the first degree, theft in the first degree, and criminal mischief in the first degree.
Isidro Martinez-Ramirez Convicted in Child Sexual Abuse Case
On July 30, 2026, Washington County Circuit Court Judge Brandon Thompson found Isidro Martinez-Ramirez, age 51, guilty of five counts of sexual abuse in the first degree and sodomy in the first degree (Jessica’s Law).
