Domestic Violence Awareness Month

The Washington County DA’s Office is committed to protecting and supporting victims of domestic violence.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Washington County District Attorney's Office is dedicated to stamping out domestic violence in our community. We work closely with community groups and our partners in law enforcement to protect victims and hold offenders accountable. All month long, we raise awareness of domestic violence by highlighting resources available to survivors. National Coffee with a Cop Day

On Wednesday, October 2, 2024 multiple law enforcement agencies, including Beaverton and Hillsboro Police, will participate in Coffee with a Cop, focusing on domestic violence education. Please check their respective social media feeds for details and locations.

Run for Hope

Taking place Saturday, October 13, the 2024 Run for Hope is a family-friendly event in recognition and celebration of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome to attend! In addition to a 5k run or walk, food trucks, a DJ, bouncy house, face painting, a resource fair, emergency responder vehicles to explore, and more will be available.

Community members are welcome to attend without participating in the 5k.

Purple and purple ribbons represent Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Participants will be awarded prizes for wearing their finest, most creative, and most fantastically festive purple outfits!

Wear Purple Day

Thursday, October 17, 2024 is Wear Purple Day. Wear purple to raise awareness about domestic violence and intimate partner violence and to show your support for survivors in our community. Post a selfie or group photo to social media using #WashCoWearsPurple!
