The Washington County Child Abuse Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), chaired by Chief Deputy District Attorney Kevin Barton, hosted its annual Spring Training Day on Monday March 19th, 2018. This year's spring training focused on drug endangered child investigations and juvenile justice issues. Approximately sixty attendees registered to attend from Washington County and elsewhere in Oregon including Newport and Hood River.
The agenda included:
- Introduction to the MDT (presented by Chief Deputy DA and MDT Chair Kevin Barton)
- Drug Endangered Children Case Study and Panel (facilitated by DDA Chris Lewman and including panelists Det. Aaron Massey (WCSO), Hailey Shelton (DHS), Det. Chad Opitz (BPD), Dr. Nicole Bishop-Perdue (CARES NW/Providence) and Jon Dyer (OSP Crime Lab)
- Juvenile Cases 101 (presented by DDA Dustin Staten, DDA Marie Atwood, Tami Bodine (Juvenile Dept) and Janice Hallyburton (DHS)
