On May 17, 2018 the DA's Office co-facilitated its annual county-wide Elder Abuse forum.  The topic for the year was a focus on Domestic Violence in the Older Adult population, in all of its permutations.  Instruction was provided by Bonnie Brandl, M.S.W., founder and director of the National Clearinghouse on Abuse in Later Life, a project to end Domestic Abuse in Wisconsin.  Ms. Brandl is a nationally recognized expert and speaker on Domestic Violence dynamics and Older Adults.  Megan Johnson, a Senior Deputy District Attorney and Chair of the County’s Multidisciplinary Team combating violence against all vulnerable adults, instructed on investigative techniques, prosecution,  and addressed issues pertinent to Washington County.  There were 91 attendees, including 8 attorneys, 31 Law Enforcement officers from around the metro area, and 52 from Social Services, including APS workers from Washington County and around the State.
